Our Team

Dr. Sonhui Chung, cofounder of Eye Connection, is an optometric glaucoma specialist and licensed therapeutic optometrist who has been serving Missouri City, Texas, and the surrounding communities since 2000. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.


Having suffered from dry eye disease for most of her adult life, Dr. Chung is deeply committed to bringing cutting-edge technology and advanced dry eye treatments to the Sienna community. In 2024, she proudly launched the Eye Connection Dry Eye Spa, expanding access to comprehensive and innovative care for patients suffering from chronic dry eye.


Dr. Chung is honored to provide eye care to Sienna and neighboring suburbs. She has a strong passion for modern diagnostic technology paired with thoughtfully curated, handcrafted eyewear. Her priority is delivering a personalized, comprehensive eye care experience tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

As a licensed therapeutic optometrist and Dry Eye Specialist, Dr. Chung has completed extensive training in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and neurologic-related eye conditions. She has also received specialized certification and advanced training in comprehensive dry eye diagnosis and management. As a dry eye disease sufferer herself, she is passionate about breaking the chronic cycle of symptoms through sophisticated technology and modern treatment options.


Dr. Chung proudly serves patients in Sienna and surrounding areas, including Missouri City, Sugar Land, Richmond, Rosenberg, Arcola, Manvel, Fresno, Riverstone, Lake Olympia, and Quail Valley.
